“Bags packed” – Paratici could be set for a surprise farewell transfer to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur and Fabio Paratici are preparing to part ways once again, with the Italian expected to begin a new role at Fiorentina in February.

During his time advising Spurs, Paratici has played a key role in strengthening the club’s links with Serie A. Since first joining Tottenham in 2021, several signings have arrived from Italy, including Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Cristian Romero, Ivan Perisic, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario and Radu Dragusin.

Dragusin has been linked with a return to Serie A not long after his move to north London. His agent initially explored interest from clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, but limited playing time and strong competition for places have reduced those possibilities.

AS Roma have been pursuing the Romanian defender this month, and although negotiations have become drawn out, a departure remains a realistic outcome.

Should Dragusin leave, Tottenham are already considering potential replacements. Calciomercato reports that Alessandro Buongiorno has emerged as a possible option.

The 26-year-old joined Napoli from Torino in July 2024 in a deal worth €35 million plus €5 million in bonuses. However, he has slipped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte. According to Calciomercato, Buongiorno’s “bags are packed,” suggesting he is ready for a move.

The development is seen as consistent with Paratici’s recruitment approach and could represent a final transfer influence during his time connected with Tottenham.
