Arne Slot has confirmed that Calvin Ramsay will be available for Liverpool’s Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Saturday after missing the midweek victory over Marseille.

The Scotland international was unable to feature at the Stade Velodrome due to not being registered in Liverpool’s Champions League squad, while also being too old to qualify for List B. Despite that, Ramsay has recently been included on the bench in league matches, with his role in the squad growing following Conor Bradley’s season-ending injury.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, the head coach revealed that Federico Chiesa remains a “50-50” doubt after picking up an issue during the warm-up before the Marseille win, but there are no other new injury concerns.

Slot also confirmed that Ramsay will be in contention for selection at the Vitality Stadium, having been ineligible for Wednesday’s European clash.

Ramsay could yet play an important role

Slot caused some debate last week by suggesting he has “better options” at right-back than the 22-year-old, but his latest comments suggest Ramsay still remains part of his plans.

While Jeremie Frimpong’s strong form and experience mean Ramsay is likely to start on the bench again, the Dutchman’s injury history this season could force rotation during a demanding second half of the campaign.

UEFA rules allow clubs to make up to three changes to their Champions League squad ahead of the knockout stages, which could open the door for Ramsay to replace Bradley later in the season—especially if Liverpool avoid January signings.

Although opportunities may be limited, Liverpool history shows how quickly fringe players can become key contributors. For Ramsay, the task is clear: stay ready, keep standards high, and seize his chance when it arrives.
