Not Robertson: Tottenham set to bid for Liverpool player described as ‘exceptional’

Tottenham are reportedly stepping up their interest in Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, considering a late-window move as part of their efforts to strengthen the squad.

The North London club’s pursuit of Jones comes alongside their ongoing interest in Andy Robertson, highlighting a bold attempt to recruit two established Liverpool players. According to Liverpool insider DaveOCKOP, Spurs are preparing an initial £30 million offer for Jones ahead of the transfer deadline.

Jones, 24, has long been admired by Tottenham’s recruitment team, and new assistant coach John Heitinga — who previously worked with Arne Slot at Feyenoord — reportedly holds both Jones and Robertson in high regard. However, Liverpool are unlikely to accept such a bid. The midfielder remains an important figure under Slot, and with his continued development into a tactically mature player, the club would demand a much higher fee to even consider negotiations. Jurgen Klopp has previously described Jones as an “exceptional” player.

With injuries and squad depth concerns affecting Spurs, Thomas Frank is keen to add a technically capable, attack-minded midfielder to the squad.
