Tottenham have reportedly lodged an £87 million offer in an attempt to secure the signature of the £260,000-a-week star who has been described as a true “phenomenon.”

Tottenham Hotspur could be closing in on one of the standout deals of the winter window, with reports claiming the club have launched a huge bid for Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni.

Spurs have already invested nearly £50 million this winter, bringing in Conor Gallagher from Atlético Madrid and young Brazilian left-back Souza from Santos. They have also been linked with moves for Liverpool’s Andy Robertson and other Premier League targets such as Curtis Jones. However, attention has now shifted toward a truly world-class name, with claims that an £87 million offer has been submitted for Tchouaméni.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid have received two bids worth £87 million for the 25-year-old midfielder. Tchouaméni joined the Spanish giants from AS Monaco in 2022 for around £69 million and has since grown in stature, becoming a key figure under both Carlo Ancelotti and Xabi Alonso while earning a reported £260,000 per week.

Tottenham are said to be determined to push the deal through for the France international, who is now regarded as one of Europe’s most in-demand midfielders. Real Madrid are fully aware of the interest in his abilities, and Spurs’ approach could break their existing transfer record. The club’s ownership reportedly sees him as an immediate fit for their long-term project, potentially forming a strong midfield partnership with recent signing Gallagher.

At Real Madrid, Tchouaméni faces stiff competition for places from Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde and Dani Ceballos, while a move to the Premier League could allow him to establish himself as one of the division’s leading players.

Tchouaméni developed through Bordeaux’s academy before making his senior debut in 2018 and later moving to Monaco in January 2020. After two and a half seasons there, he completed his transfer to Real Madrid, where he has remained a regular presence, never making fewer than 27 league appearances in a single campaign. With 43 international caps and nine trophies already to his name, his experience at a young age could bring significant value to Tottenham’s squad.
