Tottenham are prepared to fund two signings ahead of the deadline, with a midfielder set to depart.

Spurs have already added two players during the January window, signing Conor Gallagher and Souza. Despite that, the Europa League holders may not be done in the market, even with uncertainty surrounding head coach Thomas Frank’s future.
One thing Frank has made clear is his desire to avoid further departures from N17 before the window closes next week. Ideally, he wants the club to prioritise new signings, with a wide forward still high on Tottenham’s wishlist.
Following the ruthless £35million sale of Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace, fans believed a replacement was already in place. However, securing a top-quality attacker midway through the season has proven challenging. Tottenham explored a move for Yan Diomande, but RB Leipzig are unwilling to negotiate until the summer. Spurs were also prepared to pursue Antoine Semenyo before Manchester City effectively ended that possibility.
AS Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche remains admired, but no formal approach has yet been made for the French winger, who is a key figure for his club.
While funds are available, Spurs are wary of making a costly mistake. With Frank under intense pressure, there is also debate over whether it makes sense to commit significant money to players suited specifically to a manager whose position is uncertain.
A potential move for Andy Robertson has been postponed until the summer, when the Scotland international is expected to leave Liverpool on a free transfer. Tottenham were willing to pay a modest fee for the 31-year-old after Ben Davies suffered a fractured ankle, but Liverpool have since signalled they will not allow Robertson to leave this month due to squad depth concerns.
An agreement in principle had been reached that would have seen Robertson arrive in north London after Liverpool’s final Champions League group match against Qarabag. That deal has since collapsed, partly due to Roma’s difficulties in replacing Kostas Tsimikas, who could return to Liverpool despite the absence of a recall clause.
Spurs still have a slim chance of signing Robertson before the deadline, but that would depend on Roma securing cover at left wing-back, with Wolves’ David Moller Wolfe among their targets.
Despite several exits already, more departures remain possible. Manor Solomon joined Fiorentina on loan after cutting short his Villarreal spell, with an £8.7million purchase option included. Kota Takai moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach on loan, while Yang Min-hyeok joined Coventry City after ending his Portsmouth loan early.
Jamie Donley has linked up with Will Lankshear at Oxford United following a brief loan at Stoke, with that deal also including a buy option. Meanwhile, Spurs U19 striker Oliver Irow has joined Mansfield Town on loan and scored twice on his debut.
Reports in Italy suggest Torino are interested in Callum Olusesi on loan with a potential permanent clause. Roma are also monitoring Radu Dragusin and Mathys Tel, though they face competition from Paris FC and Villarreal. Tottenham, however, are keen to retain Tel despite his reported frustration over reduced involvement.
Dragusin is eager for regular game time following knee surgery, but Spurs are reluctant to further thin their squad and will only consider a permanent offer. Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is open to a loan move, though that would require Tottenham to bring in a replacement — something that currently appears unlikely.
