Tottenham Hold Talks Over Move for ‘Elite’ Manchester United Forward

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an unexpected approach for Manchester United attacker Joshua Zirkzee, who is believed to be seeking a move away this month, according to TEAMtalk.

Zirkzee, described as ‘elite’ by Como scout Ben Mattinson, has found opportunities limited at Old Trafford. Manchester United strengthened their attacking options in the summer by signing Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, with all three often preferred ahead of Zirkzee in the central striker role.

Spurs could be considering attacking reinforcements, with Richarlison currently sidelined through injury and uncertainty surrounding Randal Kolo Muani’s future. Fabrizio Romano has reported that Juventus have opened discussions over a potential deal for Kolo Muani, who has struggled to establish himself since arriving in north London.

According to TEAMtalk, representatives of Zirkzee are hopeful a transfer can be secured before the window closes. Tottenham have reportedly contacted Manchester United to assess the striker’s availability, while the player is keen to secure regular playing time in the second half of the season, particularly with a World Cup approaching.

Tottenham are said to be closely monitoring developments and are prepared to act should Zirkzee become available before the January deadline. At present, United are not actively looking to sell, though the situation could change before the window closes next week.

With United currently performing well in Zirkzee’s absence as he continues his recovery from injury, Michael Carrick could consider allowing a departure if a suitable offer is received.

Zirkzee has yet to fully settle into Premier League football following his move and continues to search for consistent form as the transfer window nears its conclusion.
