Tottenham’s pursuit of Omar Marmoush: Man City position, contract situation and transfer demands
Tottenham Hotspur are among a number of clubs reportedly showing interest in Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush as they look to respond to mounting injury problems within their squad.

Transfer interest: Spurs are said to be considering a move for the Manchester City attacker in a bid to ease their goalscoring issues. The Egypt international is reportedly open to a loan switch to north London in order to secure more consistent minutes.
Past links: Tottenham have previously been connected with Marmoush, with former Spurs forward Mido publicly urging the club to sign him before his move to City in 2025. Now on the periphery of Pep Guardiola’s side, a January deal is viewed as a financially sensible option for Spurs.
Fit at Tottenham: Mido has described Marmoush as a “great signing” who would be an ideal fit for the club, pointing to his energy, versatility and ability to operate both out wide and through the middle as traits well suited to Spurs’ system.

James Maddison has been ruled out for the season with an ACL injury, while Mohammed Kudus is sidelined until April due to a serious quad problem. Richarlison is also unavailable with a hamstring issue and is not expected to return until March, leaving Thomas Frank short of options in key attacking roles during a crucial period.
City’s attacking depth: Manchester City recently strengthened their frontline further with the £62.5 million signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. The Ghanaian has made an immediate impact, starting multiple matches and adding extra firepower to Guardiola’s attack.
Players available: With City now boasting an abundance of attacking options around Erling Haaland, the club are open to moving on fringe players such as Marmoush and Oscar Bobb before the January window closes.

Contract situation: Marmoush is reportedly earning around £295,000 per week, placing him among City’s highest-paid players alongside Bernardo Silva. He signed a long-term contract running until 2029 after completing his move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025.
