Tottenham’s complete January transfer rundown as five arrivals and 11 departures are confirmed

Tottenham Hotspur made an energetic start to the January transfer window before easing off as the month progressed.

With the window now closed, Spurs were among the more active sides early on, completing the signings of Conor Gallagher from Atlético Madrid and Souza from Santos in the opening weeks, before slowing their activity.

After it emerged that Rodrigo Bentancur would be sidelined for the rest of the season through injury, co-sporting directors Fabio Paratici—who is expected to depart—and Johan Lange moved quickly to secure midfield reinforcements, finalising a deal for the former Chelsea academy player.

Tottenham also fought off serious interest from Aston Villa, who were keen on a loan move for Gallagher that included an option to buy. The England international was expected to be the first of several major additions aimed at lifting Thomas Frank’s side clear of the relegation battle.
