Bayern Munich have been cleared to move for Luka Vušković, putting Tottenham on high alert.

Thomas Frank has been cautioned that Luka Vušković could attract serious interest this summer, with as many as “four or five elite clubs” potentially lining up to prize the teenager away from Tottenham Hotspur.

The warning comes after another eye-catching display from the 18-year-old in Germany. Hamburg had gone ahead through a Fabio Vieira penalty at the Volksparkstadion, only for Harry Kane to draw Bayern level. Vincent Kompany’s side started the second half strongly, with Luis Díaz making an instant impact from the bench, but Vušković soon stole the spotlight.

Signed by Spurs from Hajduk Split for £12 million in September 2023, the centre-back powered home a header to equalise, beating Manuel Neuer. It marked his second goal since the Bundesliga resumed after the winter break and his fourth of the campaign overall.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Ivan Rakitić urged Bayern to move decisively for the Croatian international. He claimed Vušković has become one of the most talked-about young players in Europe and insisted Bayern must raise their level to secure his signature, describing the defender’s rise as hugely exciting.

German outlet SportBILD reported last month that Bayern have been closely tracking Vušković and were even offered the chance to sign him, though it remains unclear by whom. The Bavarian giants are expected to continue monitoring his progress.

Rakitić also questioned whether Tottenham will be able to keep hold of the teenager, who still has four and a half years remaining on his Spurs contract. In his view, Vušković is already prepared to take the next step to one of Europe’s very top sides, naming only a handful of clubs capable of matching his trajectory.

Lothar Matthäus echoed the praise, hailing Vušković’s maturity and football intelligence. The former Bayern midfielder said the youngster reads the game at a level rarely seen at his age and suggested he could go on to achieve something truly special.

Vušković himself struck a cautious note when asked about his future, telling BILD that a decision on whether he returns to north London or spends another season in Germany will be made after the World Cup, once he and his representatives decide what is best for his development.
