Saudi Arabian heavyweights Al Ittihad have reportedly begun discussions with the agent of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, reigniting one of football’s most persistent transfer stories.
French outlet Foot Mercato claims the Egyptian forward is now far “more open” to a switch to Saudi Arabia than in previous transfer windows, signalling a significant change in his outlook.
Salah increasingly receptive to Saudi switch as talks begin
Although Salah signed a lucrative extension keeping him at Liverpool until 2027 after a sensational 2024–25 campaign, his stance appears to have softened.
The 33-year-old had consistently expressed a desire to remain in the Premier League, but reports suggest his representative, Ramy Abbas Issa, is now in active dialogue with Al Ittihad.
The Jeddah club are eager to recruit a global icon to lead their next chapter and reportedly see Salah as the ideal marquee name to drive them back to the top of the Saudi Pro League.

Talk of a possible departure has intensified during a challenging 2025–26 season for Liverpool.
