Tottenham have reached a verbal agreement to install a 47-year-old manager as their new head coach.
Tottenham Hotspur have offered Igor Tudor a contract until the end of the season to replace Thomas Frank, according to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sports Italy.
The north London side dismissed Frank on Wednesday morning after Tuesday’s 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United, a result that left Spurs just five points above the relegation zone, with only two wins from their last 17 Premier League matches.
The club are now seeking an interim appointment before reassessing their long-term options in the summer, and former Juventus boss Tudor has emerged as the leading candidate.
Tudor managed Juventus earlier this season but was dismissed in October following an eight-game winless run and is currently a free agent. After holding talks on Friday morning, Tottenham formally offered him a six-month deal to take charge until the end of the campaign. He has verbally agreed to the terms, with only final paperwork remaining before his appointment is confirmed.
Spurs remain in the UEFA Champions League, having reached the last 16, and their next Premier League fixture is a North London derby against league leaders Arsenal on February 22.
Tudor’s immediate task will be to secure the club’s Premier League status while balancing their European campaign in pursuit of silverware. A strong run of results could potentially lead to an extended stay beyond this season.
Tottenham have prioritised a short-term solution, allowing flexibility depending on performances in the coming months. Tudor brings experience from spells with Galatasaray, Marseille and Juventus, though his recent stint in Turin lasted just seven months. His appointment represents a calculated move as the club look to stabilise results before making longer-term plans in the summer.
