Igor Tudor delivers his first message after finalising his move to Tottenham, making his genuine views on the squad unmistakably clear.
New Tottenham interim head coach Igor Tudor has made it clear that his immediate focus is on lifting results and injecting fresh energy into the squad following the departure of Thomas Frank.
Tudor was confirmed on Saturday as Frank’s successor after the Dane was dismissed earlier in the week. Spurs currently sit 16th in the Premier League table but remain in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking after his appointment, the former Juventus and Marseille boss described the move as a privilege at a crucial time for the club. He acknowledged the responsibility placed on him and stressed that his objective is to deliver more consistent performances and ensure the team competes with belief and determination in every fixture. Tudor also underlined his confidence in the quality within the squad, stating that his task is to organise the players effectively, re-energise the group and secure improved results as quickly as possible.
Sporting director Johan Lange echoed that message, emphasising the need for a swift upturn in form. He highlighted Tudor’s clarity, intensity and experience in handling difficult situations, adding that the club’s aim is to steady performances, maximise the squad’s potential and compete strongly both domestically and in Europe.
The 47-year-old arrives in north London after leaving Juventus in October. He has been handed the role on an interim basis until the end of the season, with the opportunity to strengthen his case for the permanent position.
Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with a potential return, though his availability is expected only after the World Cup. Former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic and ex-RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose are also reportedly under consideration. In addition, Roberto De Zerbi, who recently departed Marseille, could emerge as another option.
Elsewhere, Oliver Glasner was recently questioned about the vacancy at Tottenham and reacted with visible disappointment. The Austrian is expected to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the season.
