‘The chosen one’ – Tottenham star could make a comeback if €40m transfer is completed.

Despite several injury setbacks, Destiny Udogie has continued to develop at Tottenham Hotspur.
The defender has featured 20 times in all competitions this season, operating primarily as a traditional full-back — a shift from the inverted role he played under Ange Postecoglou. Under the Australian coach, Udogie’s technical qualities improved significantly. During his spell at Udinese, consistency was an issue, but at Spurs he has shown clear signs of growth and maturity.
Although currently sidelined through injury, speculation is building over a potential return to Italy.
Juventus interested
According to Calciomercato, Juventus are monitoring the Italy international. The report names him as a possible successor to Andrea Cambiaso, whose future in Turin has come under doubt following a run of underwhelming performances.
Cambiaso had previously been linked with Manchester City, but the move failed to materialise. Since then, his form has dipped, despite scoring against Inter Milan recently.
Juventus are reportedly open to selling Cambiaso for around €40 million this summer. Should that deal go through, they are expected to intensify their pursuit of Udogie, who has been described as the “chosen one” by the Bianconeri — viewed as a key figure for both present and future plans.
A difficult deal to complete
Tottenham signed Udogie from Udinese in 2022 for €18 million, and he has since made 86 appearances in all competitions. His contract in North London runs until 2030, strengthening Spurs’ position.
At just 23 years old, the left-back represents both immediate quality and long-term value, meaning any transfer would be complex and far from straightforward. Ultimately, much could depend on the player’s own stance regarding a potential move, as Tottenham are under no pressure to sanction a sale.
