“Right Now…” – Szoboszlai’s Agent Addresses Transfer Buzz Involving Real Madrid

Dominik Szoboszlai’s agent has spoken publicly about the midfielder’s future following fresh speculation linking him with Real Madrid.

Earlier this week, Spanish outlet Defensa Central reported that officials at the Bernabéu were monitoring the Liverpool FC star after comments from Hungary manager Marco Rossi suggested that the 25-year-old dreams of playing for Los Blancos.

Those remarks surfaced while Szoboszlai has been in outstanding form for Liverpool, earning glowing praise from Mohamed Salah, who recently described him as “one of the best players in the world” at present.

Agent responds to speculation

In light of the growing rumours, Szoboszlai’s representative, Matyas Esterhazy, addressed the situation in an interview with Hungarian broadcaster NB1. He stressed that transfer talk is natural when a player is performing at such a high level but insisted it is not something they are entertaining.

Esterhazy explained that with the season in full swing, Szoboszlai remains focused on his commitments in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League — a competition the midfielder has repeatedly highlighted as especially important to him. In his view, discussing potential summer moves at this stage is inappropriate. He also emphasised that Liverpool are among the world’s elite clubs and that Szoboszlai occupies a key role in the team, meaning there is no desire to look elsewhere.

Fully focused on Anfield

The agent’s comments appear aimed at shutting down unwelcome speculation, something Liverpool supporters will undoubtedly appreciate. The club has seen several high-profile players swap Anfield for Madrid in the past — including Steve McManaman, Michael Owen, Xabi Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold — with Real Madrid’s formidable Champions League pedigree often proving persuasive.

Beyond financial considerations, Champions League qualification remains crucial for Liverpool to avoid losing top talent to European heavyweights competing at the highest level.

Szoboszlai himself hinted last month that talks have begun over a possible contract extension, despite his current deal running until 2028. That development suggests he sees his long-term future on Merseyside.
