Happy Mauricio Pochettino Breaks Silence after Chelsea finally scored a goal

Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media after Chelsea finally scored a goal and snagged a win at home.

The star of the show was Cole Palmer, who picked up an assist for the only goal of the game, and was only denied a second by a dodgy offside call.

He shone creatively in a number ten role in a way that Enzo Fernandez hasn’t, and even put a shift in defending too.

Pochettino was asked about what he made of the youngster’s performance, but instead chose to shine the light on the whole team, and to stress how much more is to come from Cole:

“I think all of the team was really good. Cole is a very talented player, was key in this victory, still young, still needs to settle in the club, not only the team, the city.”

It’s a classic managerial tactic of course – avoid blaming individuals for mistakes or for great moments either, keep the whole thing about the team. But privately he will be delighted with how Palmer performed, and will surely be considering giving him his first Premier League start when Monday’s game against Fulham rolls around.
