So sad – Mauricio Pochettino has bad news on another new injury

Mauricio Pochettino has just been speaking to the media, and it’s not good news on the Ben Chilwell injury front.

Pochettino says scans still need to be done, but that the doctor has told him that it’s not looking good. He even said he was “sad” about it, which isn’t promising at all.

Chilwell made it all the way to the final moments of Wednesday’s game, having played very little in the last few weeks. This is a bitter blow to him if indeed he is ruled out for any significant period.

He went off clutching his hamstring after a clash with Billy Gilmour in stoppage time. It didn’t look terrible, but you can only tell so much from the video.

His last two full seasons have been blighted by consistent injuries, and this looks like another one.

Ian Maatsen and Marc Cucurella are available to cover, but it’s still an important first team option lost for Mauricio Pochettino
