J\u00fcrgen Klopp once publicly confronted a Liverpool player in front of the entire squad after the individual deleted a late-night social media post.<\/p>\n
The German spent nearly nine years in charge at Anfield, ending the club\u2019s 30-year wait for a league title and adding the Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups, and the Club World Cup to his legacy \u2014 cementing himself as one of Liverpool\u2019s greatest-ever managers.<\/p>\n
Now serving as Red Bull\u2019s Head of Global Soccer, Klopp oversees football development and philosophy across its network of clubs, including RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, and the New York Red Bulls.<\/p>\n
Speaking on The Diary of a CEO podcast with Steven Bartlett, Klopp was asked whether he had ever dealt with social media issues among players. He recalled:<\/p>\n
> \u201cWe had a situation where a player posted something at night and deleted it, but I found out anyway. I didn\u2019t see it myself, but people told me what happened.\u201d<\/p>\n
Klopp explained how he handled it the next day:<\/p>\n
> \u201cEven if it\u2019s deleted, I go into the dressing room and say, \u2018Last night, something happened and got deleted. I know what it was, but maybe you\u2019d like to tell everyone.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
When Bartlett asked if he really made the player address the whole team, Klopp laughed:<\/p>\n
> \u201cYeah, that\u2019s nice. I don\u2019t do it to attack them, I just say, \u2018Someone told me, so I know. Not that it\u2019s a big deal, but tell everyone what you meant.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
He admitted that while it wasn\u2019t meant to humiliate anyone, it served as a fitting lesson:<\/p>\n
> \u201cI don\u2019t like putting people in that position, but it\u2019s a deserved punishment for something like that. And the effect was \u2014 nobody ever did it again.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although Klopp insists he has no plans to return to management, he did reveal that the only club he would ever consider coaching again in the Premier League is Liverpool.<\/p>\n
Speaking to The Athletic in September 2025, Klopp said he doesn\u2019t miss life in the dugout and is enjoying his new chapter.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, his successor Arne Slot, who guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in his debut season, is facing a tougher challenge this time around.
