Laila Ali has fired back after Claressa Shields took aim at her.<\/p>\n
During an appearance on \u201cMillion Dollaz Worth of Game\u201d with Gillie Da Kidd and Wallo, Shields claimed that Ali\u2019s boxing legacy only exists because of her famous father.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll take the high road like Terence Crawford and say she was the best of her era,\u201d Shields began around the two-minute mark. \u201cActually, I\u2019m not gonna lie \u2014 Ann Wolfe was the best in her era, and I\u2019m the best in this era. Laila Ali is just Muhammad Ali\u2019s daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gillie Da Kidd tried to intervene, saying, \u201cNah, come on, we ain\u2019t gonna do that,\u201d but Shields doubled down, insisting, \u201cNah, that is right.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wallo then defended Ali, saying, \u201cShe was in there fighting,\u201d yet Shields refused to back down.
\n\u201cShe can\u2019t fight like Ann Wolfe,\u201d she added. \u201cIf you\u2019re talking about the best of that era, Ann Wolfe would\u2019ve knocked Laila Ali out.\u201d<\/p>\n
In response, Ali released a nearly 30-minute YouTube video hitting back hard.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou know what my father would say? She\u2019s a generic wannabe,\u201d Ali said. \u201cMy father would never want to share his name or image with her. She doesn\u2019t represent anything about him \u2014 not in the ring or outside of it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ali went on to say she once supported Shields but has since been disappointed.
\n\u201cMany of us, myself included, had high hopes for her. I supported her and sent her off in the right direction, but she\u2019s become a disappointment \u2014 a terrible reflection of both the sport and our culture.\u201d<\/p>\n
