Despite Ali reportedly turning down a $15 million offer to face her, Shields continues to question the retired champion\u2019s legacy \u2014 even dismissing her as \u201cjust Muhammad Ali\u2019s daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n
During an appearance on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, Shields initially struck a respectful tone. \u201cI\u2019m gonna take the high road like Terence Crawford and say she was the best in her era,\u201d she said, before quickly changing her stance. \u201cActually, I\u2019m not gonna lie \u2014 Ann Wolfe was the best in her era, and I\u2019m the best in this era. Laila Ali is just Muhammad Ali\u2019s daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Host Gillie Da Kid pushed back, saying, \u201cNah, come on, we ain\u2019t gonna do that,\u201d but Shields stood firm. \u201cNah, that\u2019s right,\u201d she replied. When Wallo defended Ali for \u201cbeing in there fighting,\u201d Shields doubled down: \u201cShe couldn\u2019t rumble like Ann Wolfe. I said, \u2018Who was the best from that era?\u2019 Ann Wolfe would\u2019ve knocked Laila Ali out.\u201d She even quizzed the hosts on Wolfe\u2019s accomplishments \u2014 a multi-time world champion and International Women\u2019s Boxing Hall of Famer \u2014 before adding, \u201cI\u2019m glad you know, \u2019cause she would\u2019ve knocked Laila\u2019s \u2018oh so pretty a**\u2019 out. That\u2019s the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gillie admitted he admired both fighters and just wished the matchup could happen, but Shields wasn\u2019t done. \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019d be as competitive as people think,\u201d she said. \u201cShe\u2019s a big woman \u2014 big hands, big feet, big head \u2014 but my boxing skills are way above hers.\u201d When Gillie suggested the age gap would favor Shields, she brushed it off: \u201cNah, this would just be the greatest woman of all time proving why she\u2019s the greatest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Ali had already stirred Shields by commenting on her attitude in several interviews. \u201cYou can think you can beat me \u2014 that\u2019s fine,\u201d Ali said. \u201cBut when you start questioning my legacy, that\u2019s a lot. She might go further if she stopped burning bridges.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ali added that she harbors no resentment: \u201cI\u2019ve got a lot going on to be worried about these young girls like that. But I do see she gets into it with a lot of people.\u201d<\/p>\n
