The North London side have made youth recruitment a key part of their long-term strategy in recent transfer windows, signing several promising players to strengthen the future core of the squad.<\/p>\n
However, last summer marked a slight shift in approach, with Spurs opting to bring in more experienced players to add balance and leadership. Now, with Fabio Paratici returning to focus on first-team affairs and Johan Lange overseeing youth recruitment and scouting, the club once again appear to be prioritising the next generation.<\/p>\n
Tottenham scouts watch Can Uzun during Liverpool vs Eintracht Frankfurt<\/p>\n
According to TBR Football, Tottenham sent scouts to monitor Can Uzun, a highly rated 19-year-old Turkish midfielder currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt. Spurs officials were present during Frankfurt\u2019s clash with Liverpool, although Uzun did not feature in the game.<\/p>\n
Uzun has quickly established himself as one of the standout young players in the Bundesliga and is seen as part of a new wave of Turkish stars, alongside Arda Guler\u2014who has also been linked with Tottenham\u2014and Kenan Yildiz of Juventus.<\/p>\n
Since his move to Germany in 2024, Uzun has registered five goals and three assists, impressing with his performances and adaptability.<\/p>\n
Other clubs showing interest<\/p>\n
Tottenham face competition, with Brighton & Hove Albion, BlueCo, and the City Football Group all reportedly tracking Uzun\u2019s progress this season.<\/p>\n
With Guler expected to demand a much higher transfer fee, Uzun could represent a more attainable target at around \u00a350 million.<\/p>\n
Speaking to TBR Football, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed insights from a Premier League scout who has followed Uzun closely:<\/p>\n
