Liverpool Football Club is grieving the loss of former goalkeeping coach Jos\u00e9 Manuel Ochotorena, who has passed away at the age of 64. The sad news was confirmed on Monday morning by Valencia CF, where the Spanish coach spent much of his playing and coaching career.<\/p>\n

The Basque-born goalkeeper coach joined Rafa Ben\u00edtez\u2019s backroom staff at Liverpool in the summer of 2004, following a successful spell together at Valencia that produced multiple trophies. During his three years at Anfield, Ochotorena famously helped prepare Jerzy Dudek for the 2005 Champions League final penalty shootout against AC Milan \u2014 a night that went down in history as Liverpool\u2019s miraculous comeback from 3\u20130 down to lift the trophy.<\/p>\n
A year later, he was part of the coaching team that guided the Reds to FA Cup glory and remained at the club until 2007, during which Liverpool also reached another Champions League final.<\/p>\n
