Amara Nallo made only his second senior appearance for Liverpool on Wednesday night, but just like his debut, it was cut short in unfortunate circumstances.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old lasted just four minutes on his first outing against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League last January before being shown a red card, and history repeated itself as Crystal Palace knocked the Reds out of the Carabao Cup.<\/p>\n
This time, Nallo was brought on in the 67th minute but was dismissed 12 minutes later for a professional foul on Justin Devenny.<\/p>\n

\nIt was another tough moment in the teenager\u2019s young career, and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk made sure to seek him out after the red card to offer words of comfort.<\/p>\n
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Stephen Warnock said:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat a horrible feeling for the youngster, Amara Nallo. There\u2019s nothing worse than being sent off on your debut, and then to have it happen again in your next game. I just saw Virgil van Dijk walk down the tunnel \u2013 you\u2019ve got to try to lift the lad\u2019s spirits.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nNallo now holds the unfortunate record of playing just 16 senior minutes for Liverpool and being sent off twice, both for denying clear goal-scoring opportunities.<\/p>\n
While his dismissal didn\u2019t change the outcome of the match \u2014 Palace were already 2\u20130 ahead \u2014 it was still a painful personal setback. Yet Van Dijk\u2019s gesture of support showed strong leadership and empathy toward a young teammate facing early adversity.<\/p>\n
