He remains unavailable for selection.

Alexander Isak may require surgery

Injury expert Ben Dinnery has raised fresh concerns, suggesting that Liverpool could eventually need to consider surgery to address the problem properly.

Speaking to Escapist Magazine via ECHO, Dinnery explained:

> “Is there maybe a need to go under the knife? There will be a point where they look at that and discuss.

Surgical intervention is usually done for two reasons: to reduce the risk of re-injury and to help a player return to pre-injury performance levels.

Of course, no surgery comes with a 100% success rate, which is why such decisions aren’t taken lightly. Isak’s case seems minor — more of a niggle — but it’s being managed carefully.

Considering the form of Ekitike and Isak’s disrupted pre-season, it’s not surprising he’s had these setbacks. Missing key preparation sessions increases the likelihood of early-season injuries.”

Emile Heskey backs Isak to bounce back

Despite his tough start, former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey has urged patience and offered his backing to Isak, expressing confidence that the 26-year-old will eventually justify his record-breaking price tag.

Speaking to TEAMtalk, Heskey said:

> “I think he will come good. He just needs to keep his head up because once you let it get to you, it can affect your confidence.

We saw it with Darwin Núñez — before joining Liverpool, he was full of energy and scoring freely, but that spark can fade if your mindset slips.

Isak needs to stay mentally strong, keep working hard, and maintain his aggression on the pitch. Once he settles into Liverpool’s system, he’ll overcome this rough patch.”

Nothing appears to be going Liverpool’s way this season, and now an injury expert has added to the concern with an update on Alexander Isak.
