Initial reports from the Netherlands suggested he could return during the international break in mid-November, but a new update from Merseyside paints a more concerning picture for both the Dutchman and the Reds.

How long will Frimpong be out?
According to Lewis Steele’s latest Liverpool Confidential column for Mail Sport, Frimpong is expected to be out for up to six weeks, with early December now viewed as the most realistic timeframe for his return.

This means the summer signing will almost certainly miss all six of Liverpool’s fixtures in November — including crucial meetings with Real Madrid, Manchester City, and PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. The earliest possible comeback could be for the Premier League clash against in-form Sunderland on December 3, with tricky away trips to Leeds and Inter Milan following soon after.

Liverpool’s right-back options during Frimpong’s absence
Frimpong had already missed time earlier this season due to a minor muscle problem, so his start to life at Anfield has been somewhat stop-start. Arne Slot has yet to settle on a consistent right-back choice, and Frimpong’s setback complicates matters further.

Conor Bradley is currently the only natural senior right-back available, while Dominik Szoboszlai has occasionally filled in there. Calvin Ramsay also impressed when handed a rare start against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup this week.

Although Slot still has options to cover the position, losing one of the club’s marquee summer arrivals for at least another month is far from ideal. The upcoming December fixture list looks challenging enough as it is, and Liverpool will be eager to have Frimpong back as soon as possible.

In the meantime, much will depend on Bradley’s ability to maintain consistency and fitness — something Liverpool will be counting on heavily until Frimpong returns.

Jeremie Frimpong is among several Liverpool players currently sidelined with injuries, and unfortunately, it looks like fans won’t be seeing much more of him in 2025.
