Arne Slot has confirmed that three Liverpool players will miss Tuesday night\u2019s Champions League clash against Real Madrid due to injury.<\/p>\n
During Monday\u2019s pre-match press conference, the Reds boss provided an update on Alexander Isak, Jeremie Frimpong, and Alisson Becker \u2014 all of whom remain sidelined.<\/p>\n
Speaking via liverpoolfc.com, Slot said:<\/p>\n
> \u201cAll three are not available for tomorrow. Jeremie and Alisson will also not be available for Sunday [against Manchester City]. With Alex, we have to wait and see. He\u2019s definitely not starting on Sunday, but maybe he can be involved in the squad. He is still not training with the team, so we have to wait and see.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier in the day, journalist Paul Joyce had already hinted at mixed news from Liverpool\u2019s Kirkby training session \u2014 Curtis Jones returned to training, but Isak was notably absent.<\/p>\n
Alisson and Frimpong also missed the weekend\u2019s 2-0 win over Aston Villa, with the latter describing his injury layoff as \u201creally annoying\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n
Isak\u2019s absence is especially disappointing, as the \u00a3125m striker had only just regained full fitness before picking up a groin issue in the win over Eintracht Frankfurt two weeks ago. Slot remains hopeful the Swedish forward could return to the squad for the upcoming clash with Manchester City.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, reports suggest Frimpong is expected to be out until early December, while Alisson \u2014 who has already been sidelined for five weeks \u2014 is targeting a return after the international break.<\/p>\n
Liverpool will be hoping that the upcoming pause in fixtures allows key players to recover in time for their first match back against Nottingham Forest on November 22.
