Darwin N\u00fa\u00f1ez has been backed for a swift Premier League return, less than a year after leaving Liverpool.<\/p>\n
The Uruguayan striker, who played a key role in Liverpool\u2019s title-winning campaign under Arne Slot, joined Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal last summer in a \u00a346 million move. Since arriving in Riyadh, he\u2019s registered four goals and two assists in eight appearances.<\/p>\n
Despite being under contract until 2028, speculation over a move back to England has already begun. Former Chelsea and France defender Marcel Desailly has urged his old club to consider signing N\u00fa\u00f1ez, claiming he would be an \u201cideal fit\u201d to solve their attacking woes.<\/p>\n
Desailly, who made over 200 appearances for the Blues, told OLGB:<\/p>\n
> \u201cN\u00fa\u00f1ez was perfect \u2014 young, talented, and full of potential. Things didn\u2019t fully click for him at Liverpool, but the fact they signed him shows his quality. N\u00fa\u00f1ez joined Liverpool in 2022 for an initial \u00a364 million but never fully cemented himself as a consistent goalscorer. His best Premier League campaign saw him net 11 goals in 2023\/24, though he managed only five the following season before his departure.<\/p>\n
