Despite Spurs\u2019 return to the Champions League, attendances have dipped, with just 54,755 and 49,565 fans turning up for home ties against Villarreal and Copenhagen. The Supporters\u2019 Trust argues that supporters\u2014especially younger ones\u2014are being priced out, and has urged the club to broaden its young adult category to ages 18\u201325 and ensure those concessions apply to all fixtures.<\/p>\n
\u201cOver the last couple of seasons, the atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has unquestionably deteriorated. The reasons are simple: too many empty seats and too many supporters, particularly young ones, unable to afford to attend. Thin the crowd and you thin the noise,\u201d the THST said.<\/p>\n
For years, strong results and the drawing power of stars like Harry Kane and especially Heung-Min Son masked underlying issues, even attracting thousands of travelling South Korean fans. But the Trust says last season\u2019s Europa League nights\u2014helped by fairer ticket pricing\u2014showed that accessible prices fill the stands with the next generation of fans, and that the atmosphere naturally follows.<\/p>\n
