Frank would undoubtedly relish having the 32-year-old at his disposal, as he would elevate the current side. But Kane isn\u2019t the only former Spurs striker making headlines, with Troy Parrott producing the best football of his career.<\/p>\n
Parrott\u2019s progress since leaving Spurs
\nParrott joined AZ Alkmaar in July 2024 for around \u00a37m after only four senior appearances and five separate loan spells, the last being a prolific season with Excelsior. His 2024\/25 campaign has been the standout of his young career. The 23-year-old has been excellent for Alkmaar, and that form has carried over to the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n
With 13 goals and two assists in 14 club games this season, he entered the international break in top form and delivered again\u2014first with a brace in Ireland\u2019s shock win over Portugal, then with a hat-trick against Hungary that underlined his rising status.<\/p>\n
Given Tottenham\u2019s current shortage of options at centre-forward, it\u2019s easy to see why his departure now feels costly. Still, Spurs may have a potential successor waiting in the wings.<\/p>\n
Tottenham\u2019s possible new Kane
\nDane Scarlett might have hoped to be further along in his development by now, but the 21-year-old remains firmly in the frame to make it at the club. Once described by Jose Mourinho as a \u201cdiamond\u201d, he worked his way back into contention after several loan spells and could mirror Kane\u2019s path\u2014who also went through multiple loans before breaking through at 21.<\/p>\n
Scarlett, labelled a \u201cfantastic finisher\u201d by Frank, scored his first senior goal in the Europa League last season and has been included on the bench five times in Tottenham\u2019s last seven Premier League matches.<\/p>\n
TNT Sports pundit Peter Crouch noted after the win over Elfsborg that Scarlett showed shades of a young Kane, having battled through setbacks much like Kane did before becoming one of the club\u2019s all-time greats.<\/p>\n
While Parrott\u2019s opportunity at Tottenham ultimately slipped away, Scarlett still has time on his side. With the team\u2019s current attacking difficulties, one chance could be all he needs to establish himself.<\/p>\n
