Following a significant update from David Ornstein on Monday, Spurs have been given a huge opportunity to secure one of the Premier League\u2019s most exciting attackers. Ornstein confirmed that a \u00a365 million release clause in Antoine Semenyo\u2019s contract becomes active in January, coinciding with weeks of speculation that the Bournemouth winger is high on Tottenham\u2019s shortlist.<\/p>\n
Clinton Morrison believes Tottenham need Semenyo more than any other interested club. Signing the 25-year-old won\u2019t be easy, as Liverpool and Manchester City are both reportedly prepared to compete with Spurs for his signature.<\/p>\n
Morrison argued that Tottenham\u2019s need for the Ghanaian is far greater than that of either the Reds or City. When asked which Premier League club needs Semenyo the most, the former Crystal Palace striker told Sky Sports News (17\/11\/25 \u2013 18:17):<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Tottenham need him the most, without a doubt. I thought he might go to Liverpool in the summer because of the Richard Hughes connection, but Man City already have lots of wide options and would have to move some players on. He needs to be playing every week. Tottenham need a wide player like Semenyo. Every team could use him, but looking ahead to January, I think Spurs will be the ones prepared to pay the fee. Man City and Liverpool are interested and he\u2019s performing brilliantly. I just like him as a player\u2014his personality, his confidence. He missed a penalty against Villa, but I\u2019m sure he\u2019ll step up again. He\u2019s full of belief, he\u2019s at a great age, and he has a huge future.\u201d<\/p>\n
Whether Spurs can beat their Premier League rivals to Semenyo remains uncertain. Manchester United are also said to be considering a move in January. Even so, Liverpool appear to pose the biggest threat, with suggestions that they see Semenyo as Mohamed Salah\u2019s long-term successor.<\/p>\n
