Curtis Jones didn\u2019t hold back as he delivered a blunt, expletive-laced verdict on Liverpool\u2019s latest disastrous performance.<\/p>\n
The Reds fell to their ninth defeat in 12 matches on Wednesday night, suffering a 4-1 hammering at Anfield against PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.<\/p>\n
After being beaten 3-0 by Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Liverpool had hoped to bounce back in Europe \u2013 especially after recently defeating Real Madrid. Instead, they conceded early when Ivan Perisic scored from the spot following a Virgil van Dijk handball. Although Dominik Szoboszlai levelled soon after, Arne Slot\u2019s side collapsed after the break, with Guus Til scoring and Couhaib Driouech adding two more.<\/p>\n

Speaking to RTE Sport after the match, a frustrated Jones admitted he was at a loss for words, saying the team are \u201cin the s***\u201d and describing the situation as \u201cunacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know, I don\u2019t have the answers \u2013 I\u2019m the same as everyone else,\u201d Jones said, clearly dejected. \u201cIt\u2019s unacceptable, honestly. I don\u2019t even know what to say anymore. I\u2019ve gone past feeling angry or sad. I\u2019ve reached a point where I just don\u2019t have the words.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs both a player and a lifelong fan, I can\u2019t remember a time when we\u2019ve played this poorly or had results like this,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut we still wear that badge. As long as we do, we\u2019ll fight to bring the club back to where it should be and remind everyone why Liverpool is the best team in the world. But right now, we\u2019re in a bad place and things have to change.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite spending over \u00a3400 million in the summer, Liverpool are enduring their worst run since 1950, with pressure rapidly mounting on Slot and a new frontrunner reportedly emerging to replace him.<\/p>\n
Speaking to TNT Sports about the crisis, Slot tried to remain positive: \u201cI want to highlight how the players responded after going 1-0 down because we played well until half time. The only option is to push through this. We have to face our situation and fight hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
