Jamie Carragher didn\u2019t hold back during Liverpool\u2019s clash with PSV Eindhoven.<\/p>\n
The former Reds defender branded one of Arne Slot\u2019s decisions a \u201csackable offence\u201d after Liverpool\u2019s bruising 4-1 Champions League defeat on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
Liverpool fell behind early after Ivan Perisic scored a sixth-minute penalty, though Dominik Szoboszlai briefly levelled the score. However, PSV tore through Liverpool in the second half, exploiting their defensive issues and netting three unanswered goals, with Couhaib Driouech grabbing a brace.<\/p>\n
The performance drew heavy criticism, including from Dietmar Hamann, who blasted Mohamed Salah for what he described as a \u201cdisgraceful\u201d moment. Carragher also voiced his frustration on CBS Sports, insisting Slot had made a major error.<\/p>\n
He aimed his criticism at Ibrahima Konat\u00e9, saying Slot\u2019s choice to keep selecting the defender was unacceptable. In a CBS Sports clip, Carragher is seen venting on the phone before shouting: \u201cI\u2019ve f**king had enough of them, honest to God. That Konat\u00e9\u2026 that\u2019s a sackable offence for the manager to keep picking him. He should be sacked for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pressure on Slot continues to grow after three straight defeats. Carragher questioned whether the PSV loss might be the point where fans start losing faith in the Dutchman.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt hasn\u2019t just been one bad night \u2014 it\u2019s been like this all season,\u201d he said. \u201cWe said after the first Champions League group game that this sort of result was coming. Liverpool don\u2019t usually sack managers, especially ones who\u2019ve won the league. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s ever happened in their history.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I think a lot of supporters tonight will be wondering if we\u2019re at that point now. It\u2019s unbelievable to even think that, considering how incredible his first season was.\u201d<\/p>\n
