Liverpool open to selling Chiesa
\nAccording to Pete O\u2019Rourke (via Football Insider), Liverpool may decide to cash in on the 28-year-old if the right offer arrives. But the club will only approve his exit once a suitable replacement is secured. Bournemouth\u2019s Antoine Semenyo is currently their preferred option.<\/p>\n
Chiesa had the chance to leave last summer after a disappointing campaign, but he chose to stay and fight for a bigger role. Unfortunately, things haven\u2019t gone as he hoped.<\/p>\n
Not fully trusted by Arne Slot
\nAlthough he showed flashes early in the season, Chiesa has remained a fringe player. He has featured in 14 matches in all competitions but has only played 380 minutes and made just two starts \u2014 both in the EFL Cup.
\nO\u2019Rourke notes that Slot doesn\u2019t seem to fully trust him, even though some fans want to see him used more often.<\/p>\n
He believes Chiesa will only be allowed to leave if Liverpool secure a replacement, and Semenyo is viewed as the leading candidate to take his place.<\/p>\n
Could a January exit happen?
