Although a second-half surge brought hope\u2014Mo Kudus pulled one back and Spurs applied sustained pressure\u2014the early setback was too much to overturn. Kenny Tete\u2019s deflected effort and Harry Wilson\u2019s finish into an empty net from Guglielmo Vicario\u2019s misplaced clearance left Spurs with a steep challenge at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was a hard one,\u201d Thomas said afterwards. \u201cWe prepared well, the players were ready, and then suddenly we\u2019re 2-0 down after six minutes. It\u2019s a classic sign of a team going through a difficult spell\u2014things aren\u2019t flowing, momentum isn\u2019t with you, and you concede from a deflection and then from a mistake.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the first half we forced things too much, maybe because we were shocked and desperate to respond. In the second half we were calmer, created more, scored a good goal, and had chances to make it 2-2 but didn\u2019t take them.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI see players who desperately want to turn this around, to give everything for a win in front of our fans and make them proud. Sometimes you go through tough periods, and we just have to keep pushing, keep improving, and we know it will turn.\u201d<\/p>\n
