Harvey Elliott joined Aston Villa on an initial loan from Liverpool three months ago, with the deal set to become permanent once he reaches 10 appearances under Unai Emery (The Athletic). Yet it\u2019s been nearly two months since his last appearance\u2014one of just five outings so far\u2014and he hasn\u2019t made a Premier League matchday squad since mid-October (Transfermarkt). Some reports even suggest he may have played his final game at Villa Park.<\/p>\n
Though still technically a Liverpool player, Elliott appears surplus to requirements at Anfield, leaving the door open for another top-flight club to swoop in.<\/p>\n
West Ham monitoring Elliott situation
\nAccording to the Sunday Mirror (30 November, via West Ham Zone), West Ham are keeping tabs on Elliott\u2019s situation and may pursue a move for him next summer. A January return to Liverpool hasn\u2019t been ruled out if he continues to be overlooked in the Midlands, with RB Leipzig also reportedly interested in the England U21 international.<\/p>\n
Liverpool should consider recalling Elliott
\nGiven Emery seems unlikely to grant Elliott the five more appearances required to make the Villa move permanent, Liverpool could seriously consider recalling the 22-year-old. Last season under Arne Slot, Elliott was a sporadic starter but still made 28 appearances and contributed as a substitute\u2014a far cry from his current stagnation.<\/p>\n
Unless recalled to Merseyside and reintegrated into the first-team setup, Elliott may struggle to add further appearances to his 149 matches for Liverpool.<\/p>\n
