Almost a year ago to the day, Calum Scanlon saw his season unravel while on loan at Millwall, suffering a serious hamstring injury that ruled him out for the rest of 2025. The setback came at a brutal time, arriving just after the defender had returned from a four-month absence caused by a stress fracture in his back.<\/p>\n
To say misfortune has followed the 20-year-old would be an understatement. However, he finally made his long-awaited return on Tuesday, playing the opening 45 minutes of a 1-1 draw, with former Liverpool defender Conor Coady featuring for Wrexham (liverpoolfc.com).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to overstate what Tuesday\u2019s appearance would have meant to the left-back. While the game won\u2019t be recorded as a competitive senior outing, it likely felt like a fresh start \u2014 and potentially the first step towards getting his career back on track.<\/p>\n
