Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly preparing a bargain move for Las Palmas defender Mika M\u00e1rmol in the January transfer window, as uncertainty continues to surround Radu Dragusin\u2019s future at the club.<\/p>\n
Dragusin is expected to leave Tottenham in the second half of the season, with AS Roma and Napoli both showing strong interest in the Romanian centre-back. Napoli, now managed by former Spurs boss Antonio Conte, have made enquiries, while Roma are pushing for a loan deal with an option to buy, dependent on certain conditions. Tottenham are believed to value Dragusin at around \u20ac20 million (\u00a317.3m, $23.3m), with reports in Italy claiming the player himself is keen on a move to Roma.<\/p>\n
As a result, Spurs are exploring a potential deal for former Barcelona defender Mika M\u00e1rmol. According to Sports Boom, Tottenham are interested in signing M\u00e1rmol if Dragusin departs. The 24-year-old, who can operate as both a centre-back and left-back, is currently with Las Palmas and is out of contract at the end of the season, making a renewal unlikely.<\/p>\n
M\u00e1rmol has a reported release clause of around \u00a310 million (\u20ac11.5m, $13.4m), though Mundo Deportivo claims the clause stands at \u20ac10 million (\u00a38.7m, $11.7m). Las Palmas were relegated from La Liga last season and now compete in Spain\u2019s second division. M\u00e1rmol has made 86 appearances for the club, registering two goals and three assists.<\/p>\n
Barcelona retain 50 percent of M\u00e1rmol\u2019s economic rights, meaning they would benefit financially from any transfer. Mundo Deportivo reported earlier this month that Las Palmas already view his departure as inevitable, with club president Miguel \u00c1ngel Ram\u00edrez admitting that renewing his contract would be difficult due to interest from bigger teams.<\/p>\n
While Sports Boom remains the only outlet linking Tottenham with M\u00e1rmol, Barcelona are reportedly unlikely to pursue the defender in January, potentially clearing the way for Spurs to complete a deal.<\/p>\n
