Federico Chiesa is facing a potential fitness concern ahead of Liverpool\u2019s Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Italy international had been listed among the substitutes for Wednesday night\u2019s Champions League meeting with Marseille, but it emerged soon after kick-off that he had picked up an issue during the warm-up at the Stade Velodrome, ruling him out of contention altogether.<\/p>\n

Chiesa battling to recover in time<\/p>\n
Late on Wednesday evening, Daily Mail journalist Lewis Steele shared an update on X, explaining that the problem which sidelined Chiesa stemmed from a training-ground injury sustained the previous day.<\/p>\n
Steele wrote: \u201cFederico Chiesa withdrew from the bench tonight due to an injury originally from training on Tuesday that he felt again in the warm-up. Liverpool fly back tomorrow [Thursday] and it\u2019s unclear whether the Italian will be OK to be in the squad on Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n
Slot optimistic over injury outlook<\/p>\n
After the match, Arne Slot admitted he had hoped Chiesa might still have been fit enough to feature in Marseille, but reassured supporters that he does not believe the injury will be a long-term issue.<\/p>\n
Chiesa is due to undergo further assessment by Liverpool\u2019s medical team once the squad returns to Merseyside, with Slot expected to provide another update when he speaks to the media ahead of the Bournemouth game.<\/p>\n
