As a result, the Czech international could be allowed to leave this month in an unexpected move. Tottenham are reportedly considering a loan swap that would see Kinsky join West Ham, while Mads Hermansen moves in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n
John Wenham, who runs the Lilywhite Rose account on X, believes the deal could prove risky if Vicario were to suffer an injury and is uneasy about strengthening a direct rival.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham explained that the move could make sense only if Vicario remained fit for the entire season, as it would give the 21-year-old Kinsky the chance to gain regular Premier League experience. Kinsky has featured only twice this season, while Tottenham mainly require a reliable backup goalkeeper due to their reduced fixture schedule after exiting both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.<\/p>\n
However, Wenham warned that the situation could quickly become problematic if Vicario were sidelined and Hermansen was required to step in as the main goalkeeper, especially in high-pressure matches. He also questioned the logic of helping West Ham, given the narrow points gap between the two clubs.<\/p>\n
In Premier League action this season, Vicario has made 22 appearances with a 66.3% save rate, conceding 29 goals and keeping seven clean sheets, while Hermansen has played four matches with a 45% save rate, conceding 11 goals and recording one clean sheet.<\/p>\n
The rivalry between Tottenham and West Ham stems largely from both clubs being based in London, with tensions historically heightened by several high-profile transfers between the sides.
