Tottenham face a challenging run of fixtures in the coming weeks, a period that could be pivotal for head coach Thomas Frank\u2019s future at the club.<\/p>\n
Ex-England striker Alan Shearer has attributed Spurs\u2019 struggles to years of \u201cpoor\u201d recruitment and warned that the upcoming schedule will only make things harder. Tottenham have won just two of their last 14 games, leaving Frank under mounting pressure.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Spurs drew 2\u20112 at Burnley. Micky van de Ven opened the scoring before Axel Tuanzebe and Lyle Foster put the home side ahead. Cristian Romero rescued a late point in the 90th minute, but Spurs remain 14th in the Premier League, just eight points clear of the relegation zone.<\/p>\n
Next up is a Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt, following a 2\u20110 victory over Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Match of the Day, Shearer said:
\n\u201cTruth be known, they\u2019re not a good team. They\u2019re miles off it\u2014not good enough. Five without a win in the Premier League, two wins in 14. And when you look at their coming fixtures\u2014Frankfurt on Wednesday in the Champions League, then Premier League games against Man City, Man United, Newcastle, and Arsenal\u2014that is a really, really tough run. That\u2019s not a good position to be in.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cTottenham are suffering from poor recruitment over the years and, truth be known, they\u2019re not a good team.\u201d<\/p>\n
After the Burnley match, Frank addressed fans, insisting he is working hard to improve results:
\n\u201cWe just need to keep going. We do so many things right, but there\u2019s no doubt it\u2019s not dropping so easy for us.
