However, fresh comments from the Italian transfer expert suggest Jacquet will not be short of elite-level interest. Rennes are said to have placed a hefty \u20ac70m (\u00a360.7m) valuation on the young defender, putting him firmly on the radar of Europe\u2019s biggest clubs.<\/p>\n

Speaking on DAZN Football on Monday evening, Romano said:
\n\u201cIt\u2019s a crazy battle for the player. Remember the name, because Jeremy Jacquet is probably one of the most talented defenders in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued:
\n\u201cLiverpool are calling and are involved in this race. They are part of the discussion, along with Bayern Munich \u2014 especially as Kim Min-jae could potentially leave in the summer.<\/p>\n
\u201cChelsea, Liverpool and Bayern are all in the mix. Now we have to see what the player wants to do and what Rennes decide, because they\u2019re asking for up to \u20ac70m. Why Jacquet makes sense for Liverpool<\/p>\n
Liverpool\u2019s lack of centre-back depth has been exposed since Giovanni Leoni suffered a season-ending ACL injury in September. That concern has only grown in recent weeks following Marc Guehi\u2019s move to Manchester City and another fitness setback for Joe Gomez.<\/p>\n
According to The Athletic, the Reds are unlikely to seek a short-term solution before next week\u2019s transfer deadline, which leaves limited time if they are to make a move for Jacquet this month.<\/p>\n
