Tottenham Hotspur are moving towards appointing a replacement for Fabio Paratici after opting not to place full trust in Johan Lange to oversee recruitment.<\/p>\n
According to The Telegraph, Spurs are planning to bring in a new senior recruitment figure following Paratici\u2019s departure to Fiorentina, instead of handing complete control to Lange. The club is keen to maintain its preferred two-man sporting director structure, particularly amid growing criticism of Lange\u2019s role in Tottenham\u2019s limited activity during the January transfer window.<\/p>\n
The situation gained further attention after Cristian Romero appeared to criticise the club\u2019s transfer business shortly after the window closed. The Argentine defender took to social media, describing it as \u201cdisgraceful\u201d that Spurs had recently been left with just 11 senior players available, a post widely interpreted as frustration over the lack of new signings.<\/p>\n
Tottenham\u2019s first January arrival was young left-back Souza from Brazilian side Santos. Given his age and profile, the defender is not expected to feature regularly in the first team and did little to strengthen Thomas Frank\u2019s immediate options. While the signing of Conor Gallagher was viewed as a positive step, the club failed to adequately replace Brennan Johnson following his move to Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n
