2025-26 Premier League kit rankings – Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United jerseys reviewed and critiqued
The Community Shield may have lifted the veil a little, but now it’s time for the real annual opener to the Premier League season.
For what feels like countless years, we’ve been casting a fashion-conscious eye over the incoming season’s new home and away kits (third kits don’t make the cut – we do have lives) to produce the definitive ranking of the division’s best and worst designs.
So get ready to be irrationally outraged at even the slightest criticism of your club’s colours – it’s good preparation for the next nine months of football debate. And remember, accept no substitutes: the original and best kit rankings are back.
40. Fulham Away
It’s a visual assault. Sure, the retro badge is a nice touch, even if it doesn’t quite gel with the modern adidas logo (more trefoils, please), but overall it’s like a truck full of radioactive waste collided with a warehouse of Fulham home shirts.
39. Aston Villa Away
Champions of Europe in 1982, Villa clearly enjoyed last season’s Champions League nostalgia trip, but this throwback design feels more suited to black-and-white TV than HD. Dull.
38. Wolverhampton Wanderers Away
One has to ask – how often do Wolves even need an away kit? This one is almost identical to last season’s goalkeeper strip, just with the badge shifted sideways. The colour screams “keeper kit” too.
37. Newcastle United Keeper Kit
Yet another for the goalkeeper kit archives – and yes, it’s hard to miss the nod to Newcastle’s Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund ownership.
36. Chelsea Home
If you watched the Club World Cup – apologies – this kit will look familiar. Whether in dreary west London rain or under an orange TV glow, it’s just bland.
35. Brentford Home
Brentford have dropped their money-saving tradition of keeping at least one shirt from the previous season to help fans’ wallets. Sadly, the replacement is a forgettable design.
34. West Ham United Away
There’s not much to say here – it’s just… there.
33. Brighton & Hove Albion Home
Every year it feels like we’ve seen this exact kit before – and we probably have. Still, there’s a nice little inside-neck detail for anyone paying close attention.
32. Manchester City Away
Once this might have felt “ominous” or “business-like,” but now it’s just uninspiring.
31. Tottenham Hotspur Away
Breaking with our usual inconsistency, Spurs edge slightly ahead of City – if only just.
