Positioned just meters from the corner flag, Saka curled the ball into the box, and despite his teammates’ attempts to make contact, it sailed straight into the net untouched.

This was Saka’s first goal from a free kick and his fifth in six Champions League matches at the Emirates. It was also Arsenal’s first direct free-kick goal in over three years, with the last one scored by Martin Odegaard against Burnley on 18 September 2021.
Should Arsenal secure victory, it would mark their first win in this season’s Champions League after a 0-0 draw with Europa League champions Atalanta in their opening game.
With challenging away fixtures against Inter Milan and Sporting ahead, earning three points against PSG would significantly strengthen Arsenal’s chances of advancing to the knockout stages.
In the Premier League, the Gunners will face newly-promoted Southampton at home on Saturday in their final match before the international break.
