“TV Pundit Reveals Intriguing ‘Behind the Scenes’ Contract Twist on Mo Salah After Liverpool Victory”
Mo Salah’s contract with Liverpool is due to expire in the summer of 2025, but it’s widely believed that discussions are underway behind the scenes about a possible extension. Former Crystal Palace player Damien Delaney speculated that Liverpool might be considering offering Salah a two-year deal. “His numbers are incredible, and I sincerely hope he stays at Liverpool next season,” Delaney shared with Virgin Media Sport.
However, Delaney pointed out potential hurdles in negotiations, given Salah’s age, salary, and contract length. “He’s 32 now, and while he might have another year, 18 months, or two years left at this level, a drop in performance could happen quickly,” he noted. Delaney suggested that while Liverpool might offer a two-year deal, Salah is likely seeking four years, which could create a difficult situation for the club.
Despite concerns about his age, Salah has begun the 2024/25 season in outstanding form, contributing 11 goals in nine appearances across all competitions, dispelling doubts about his decline after the previous season.
Liverpool are reportedly in contract talks with Salah, as well as Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. While Van Dijk has expressed his desire to stay beyond 2025, Alexander-Arnold’s future is less certain, with Real Madrid reportedly interested in the fullback. Salah, too, remains a target for the Saudi Pro League, adding further uncertainty to the negotiations. Liverpool has time to secure new deals for all three players, but the clock is ticking.
