A journalist has made a foreboding prediction about Isak’s transfer, following a ‘mistake’ made by the Newcastle striker.
A reliable reporter has stated that Liverpool is now “highly unlikely” to sign Alexander Isak during the current transfer window.
The Newcastle striker stirred controversy midweek by claiming his employers broke “promises” to him, prompting the club to respond with a statement affirming that no commitments were made regarding his departure. Magpies manager Eddie Howe acknowledged that he and Isak had discussions about the player’s future towards the end of last season, a statement that piqued the interest of Liverpool fans.
In his latest newsletter for The Independent, Miguel Delaney noted that Newcastle was initially open to being “pragmatic” about Isak’s situation, but their willingness to facilitate a transfer has decreased due to the striker’s attempts to force an exit. Delaney explained that players often agitate for transfers because it typically yields results, as clubs prefer not to retain players causing disruptions and want to maximize their value.
Delaney remarked, “Isak’s mistake was provoking more emotion in a situation that was initially more business-focused. Newcastle was willing to be flexible, but now their pride is at stake. Liverpool is currently very unlikely to acquire him.”
As the transfer window deadline approaches, could Isak’s push for a move backfire? Newcastle would be reluctant to lose a top striker who scored 27 goals last season and has 62 goals in 109 appearances for the club, especially as he tries to leave on his own terms.
