Leroy Sane Nearing New Bayern Munich Contract Despite Liverpool and Arsenal Interest

Leroy Sane is reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with Bayern Munich, according to Christian Falk, even though both Liverpool and Arsenal had shown interest in the winger.

The German international was previously on course to become a free agent this summer, but he now looks likely to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena. Falk, writing in his CF Bayern Insider column, stated that interest from the Premier League clubs never really progressed to a serious stage.

Although Sane is no longer in his prime, he’s still an influential part of Bayern’s squad. Supporters will no doubt be pleased to hear he’s ready to commit his future to the club.

Contract Details Revealed

Falk shared insights into the ongoing negotiations, noting that Bayern is aiming to reduce Sane’s salary from his current €15 million base and €5 million in bonuses. The new proposed deal would reportedly run until 2028, with a reduced fixed salary—potentially €9 million with €6 million in bonuses, or €10 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

Interestingly, Sane appears less concerned with financial terms at this stage in his career. His strong friendship with teammate Jamal Musiala is thought to be a motivating factor in staying, showing his desire to remain part of the team dynamic.

Premier League Rumors Fizzle Out

While there was speculation linking Sane with Arsenal and Liverpool, Falk confirmed that no concrete talks materialized. Sane may not have been a guaranteed starter for either English side, but his experience and talent would have added depth and quality to their squads.

With 125 career goals under his belt, the 29-year-old still has plenty to offer—and it seems Bayern will continue to benefit from his abilities in the seasons ahead.
