After the game, Postecoglou expressed satisfaction with his team’s response to adversity, noting they were the stronger side despite being down a player.
“We always finish strongly, and I expected a response in the second half,” he said (via Football.London). “Going down to ten men didn’t help, but ironically, we played our best football then and even scored our second goal. We had chances to equalize, and for a while, we looked like the better team. It’s disappointing, but the first-half performance cost us.”

It’s hard to believe Spurs came close to salvaging a point after one of their toughest first halves in recent memory. Galatasaray could have scored several more goals, but Tottenham rallied and fought back, only to fall just short of a result.
