Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea are set to lose one of their top targets this summer to Premier League rivals, Brighton.

The Seagulls and Dutch giants Ajax are said to have agreed in principle for the transfer of Mohamed Kudus.

The Athletic reports that the deal for the Ghana international is valued at around €40 million.

When completed, it would be a record purchase for the Premier League side, who will be playing in Europe next season.

The deal would surpassed the €34 million they paid for Joao Pedro earlier this summer.

The Seagulls’ boss Roberto De Zerbi sees the 23-year-old winger as a key target for his team.

Other clubs such as Chelsea and Arsenal had indicated interest in the Ghana international.
