Liverpool will be forced into a key change for Sunday’s clash with Manchester United, as Arne Slot has confirmed that Alisson Becker will miss the game at Anfield.

During his pre-match press conference at the AXA Training Centre, Slot provided an update on the fitness of Ryan Gravenberch, Ibrahima Konate, and Alisson.

“Ryan is completely fit, although we still have two training sessions left,” said the Liverpool boss. “Ibou has resumed training and is expected to join the full session today. The third one, Alisson, is not training with us, so he’s out.”

While Liverpool receive a double boost in midfield and defence, the absence of their No.1 goalkeeper is a major blow. Slot also confirmed that Alisson will be sidelined beyond this weekend, missing next week’s fixture as well.

Gravenberch’s return is a welcome lift following concerns over his fitness during international duty, and Konate’s recovery bolsters the defence ahead of a tough test against United. The Frenchman’s pace and aerial ability could be crucial despite recent struggles for form.

Liverpool’s depth and adaptability under Slot will once again be tested as they aim to maintain their Premier League title defence without their world-class goalkeeper.
