Arne Slot has shared a message with Virgil van Dijk regarding his future following Liverpool’s victory over Tottenham.
“Virgil, like many others, is having a good season. He, along with everyone else, wants to make it a great one,” the Liverpool manager said in a press conference.
“My first wish for him is good health for himself and his family. I also hope to continue working with him for a long time, but I don’t think that comes as a surprise to you.”
Van Dijk has yet to commit to a contract extension beyond this season, with negotiations ongoing. Compared to talks with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, discussions with the captain are reportedly the most straightforward, as remaining at Liverpool is his top priority.

Konaté: “Success Will Come” Despite the uncertainty, Konaté remains optimistic. Speaking in a recent interview, the French centre-back emphasized that this phase is part of a bigger journey. According to him, Liverpool are still adapting — especially with new players settling into the squad. He believes that with time, chemistry will improve and trophies will follow. 🏆 He also pointed to last season’s success as proof that the team has what it takes to bounce back stronger. 🤝 A Call for Unity More than anything, Konaté stressed the importance of togetherness between the team and its supporters. He praised the Anfield faithful and urged everyone to stay united, insisting that better days are ahead if patience is maintained. ❤️ Interestingly, his comments come at a time when his own future at the club remains uncertain, with his contract situation yet to be resolved heading into the summer. 🔍 What Happens Next? Liverpool’s season is now entering a defining period. Results must improve, injuries need to clear, and stability must return — both on and off the pitch. But if Konaté’s words are anything to go by, belief inside the squad is still very much alive. And sometimes… that’s all it takes before everything turns around. 👀🔥
